I graduated from Simpson College in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and Liberal Arts. I also have endorsements in Reading and Early Childhood Education.
Experience
I have been an elementary teacher for 3 years. I recently moved to Eastern Long Island, leaving my teaching job in Central Iowa. My passion for teaching has grown into tutoring. I truly enjoy working with children one on one and getting to know their learning styles and habits. I tutored a little girl throughout college and during my teaching career (6 years). I was able to help her stay on grade level for reading and math. I was able to work with her learning disabilities and create lessons that were attractive and relevant to her learning styles. I also tutored a little boy during my career as a teacher (3 years). I helped him with reading and writing strategies to help him stay at grade level.
